Kidz N Weights (formerly Youth Strength & Conditioning)

For Members aged 11-14, we offer classes which teach proper use of equipment, exercise technique, strength training, fitness floor etiquette and neurological training (works 15 to 20 reps with impeccable form), to prevent overload. Each class is limited to 6 participants guaranteeing quality attention. After completion of program, each individual will be certified and are entitled to use the Knowles & Firley Fitness Centers with an adult on the premises.

First Class Preparation

  • Bring a medical release from your doctor if you have had health or orthopedic problems.
  • Dress in gym clothes and wear tennis shoes.
  • Be punctual. Arrive five minutes early if possible.
  • Meet the instructor at the front desk in the fitness center where your class is to be completed.

Fee

  • $55 for Y-Members Only (includes t-shirt and certificate)
  • If minimum enrollment of 3 is not met, class will be cancelled with alternate options available.
  • Accommodations for one-on-one sessions can be made if the schedule does not meet your needs. The price for one-on-one sessions will be $75 for 3 one-hour sessions.
  • Make-up sessions are an additional $15 fee.

Kids who have not reached the age of 11 may still be enrolled in the program but must wait until one week prior to the start of the class to register. This allows the older students first opportunity to be registered. The Class Instructor has the right to deny any participant the opportunity to complete the class if the youth is judged as not physically or mentally mature enough for the class.

Kidz N Motion

For members ages 8-12. This class will be more fun and aerobic in format, using the circuit training method. The members will be using strength and stability equipment that will help each participant increase their cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, balance, and overall muscular strength. The tempo of each class will be set to fun music. The participants will learn how to use stability balls, therabands, medicine balls, jump ropes and various other strength and coordination equipment.

  • Each class is an 8-week session. Members are welcome to continue with as many classes as they like. There are no make-up classes.
