SUBMISSION GRAPPLING & FREE STYLE JUDO
This class is a combination of traditional grappling arts. You will learn a variety of moves; jujitsu, Russian Sambo, Greco-Roman. The class emphasizes on takedown, chokes, and submission moves. Judo builds confidence, is an exciting form of exercise, and is the most practiced martial art. The only equipment required is a uniform called a judo-gi. Judo gis can be purchased at a martial arts store or from the class instructor, Derrick Winder.

Day: Thursday  
Time: 7-8 p.m. (beginners)
8-9 p.m. (advanced)

Fee: $25 Y-Member; $37 Non-Member


TAE KWON DO (Ages 6 & Above)
NEW! NEW! NEW! MARTIAL ARTS PASS! Each registration will receive a pass from the Knowles YMCA to use for any 4 sessions. Earn a Black Belt in this exciting class geared toward, discipline, self defense, personal exercise and individual confidence. Advance through the respectable belt levels to earn up to the highest levels. Your instructors will be Brad Spraggs, 4th degree black belt, and Mark Elliott, 5th degree black belt.

Day: Tuesday  
Times: 6:30-7:30 p.m. (ages 6-13)
7:30-9:30 p.m. (Ages 14 & over)

Fee: $22 Y-Member - 4 Sessions
$37 Non-Member - 4 Sessions

 

YMCA Fall Karate Tournament
Includes Forms, Sparring, and Weapons. All belts and ranks are welcome.

Date: Saturday, October 2
Location: Firley YMCA - 525 Ellis Blvd.
Registration: 7:30 a.m.
Competition: 9:00 a.m.
Entry Fee: $40
Spectators: $5
