POSITION: School-Age Childcare (SAC) Assistant Director
SALARY: $50,000 negotiable
HOURS: Salaried, Exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the SAC Director, the SAC assistant Director shall provide administrative support to the SAC Director. He/she shall be responsible for the school-aged childcare programs in the absence of the director. He/she must perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. He/she shall be responsible for addressing concerns and inquiries from children, staff, and parents, which are brought to his/her attention.
KNOW HOW: This position requires a thorough understanding of the childcare field. Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Must be able to communicate effectively with parents, staff and children. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. He/She must meet the Missouri Office of Childhood education requirements for a Director 99+ capacity child care facility. Must obtain a current TB test, physical examination and criminal background check. Must have or be able to acquire CPR/First Aid certifications. Must meet Missouri Class E driving license level required to transport children.
JOB SEGMENTS:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner organizations, Y members, staff and program participants.
- Recruit, hire, train & evaluate all assistant staff. Collect & process all employee paperwork, including background checks. Approve payroll every other week for SAC staff.
- Control staffing ratio at all sites and camps.
- Create & implement all program curriculum as instructed by the SAC Director, including Summer Camp.
- Monitor sites and staff for quality purposes and proper curriculum implementation.
- Thoroughly understand Missouri State licensing requirements, YMCA standards, Dept. of Health requirements, etc, and teach them to staff as needed.
- Market program(s) to parents or potential patrons.
- Anticipate program needs by purchasing and distributing all required supplies.
- Follow and implement Praesidium safety and abuse guidelines.

Y-Care After School: The Y is hiring part-time Site Assistants ($15/hour) and Site Directors ($23/hour- must meet state education guidelines) for the school year! Hours are 2:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (no weekends). Must be at least 16 years old. Y-Care is a state-licensed, school-based after-school program that serves Jefferson City School District and Blair Oaks School District. Employment includes a free YMCA membership. Child Watch (Nursery/Kids Center): Care for children while their parents use the YMCA facilities. Must be at least 16 years old. Childcare experience preferred. Certified Personal Trainer: Looking for certified personal trainers. Must have a personal trainer certification and CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred. Call 761-3459 for more information.
Exercise Instructors: Under the direction of the Wellness Director, the Exercise Instructor is responsible for conducting specific exercise programs. Currently, we are looking for individuals to instruct “high-intensity classes” such as but not limited to Less Mills Body Pump, H.I.I.T (High Intense Interval Training), Tabata, Step Aerobics, or Boot Camp.
